Hotaka Takeshi
Dedicated to Takeshi!
Takeshi is cocky... very cocky! He is caring to the ones close to him, and very goal oriented. Determined attitude, doesn't let people push him around ( well maybe only a few can), and hates to be defeated unless admits it himself.
His pet is a peregrine falcon, that has been with him since his brothers death.
Hotaka Takeshi in kanji
Him and his peregrine falcon have a sort of "special ability". When Takeshi concenrtates hard enough, he can see whatever his peregrine falcon sees, and can command him to go where ever he may need him to be. This is the only bit of strategy that Takeshi has.

Gemini- Adaptable and versatile communicative and witty
Intellectual and eloquent youthful and lively

On the dark side....

Nervous and tense superficial and inconsistent cunning and inquisitive

Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. They take up new activities enthusiastically but lack application, constantly needing new interests, flitting from project to project as apparently purposelessly as a butterfly dancing from flower to flower. To them life is a game which must always be full of fresh moves and continuous entertainment, free of labor and routine. Changing horses in the middle of the stream is another small quirk in the Gemini personality which makes decision making, and sticking to a decision, particularly hard for them.

*’s mean explanation at end
"He's so pretty," 8-year-old Takeshi said, while petting his brother's peregrine falcon, "what's his name?"
"I never thought of the name, but I have been calling him Azure*," Taisuke said replying to his younger brothers question, "but I think we'd better get going home now, we'll come back here soon."
  "Promise," Takeshi said.
"Of course," Taisuke said smiling. The two got up from the spot they were sitting and headed towards home.
"Oh there you two are," there mother, Kaoru, said to the two as they walked into the house, "are you ready to go Taisuke?"
"Yea, I guess," Taisuke replied as he walked up to his room.
"Mom, where is Taisuke going?" Takeshi asked as he watched his brother disappear upstairs.
"He needs to go away for a while," she slowly replied.
"Is he going to leave like dad did?" Takeshi asked as tears filled his eyes.
"No sweetie, don't worry he will come back," she assured him.
"I'm going now, see you soon," Taisuke said as he hugged his mom and walked towards the door.
"Wait, Taisuke don't leave, I want to come with you," Takeshi called, running towards his brother and hugged him.
"Takeshi, you can't, we need at least one normal man in the family," Taisuke sadly said, as he walked out the door.
"Normal?" Takeshi said, dumfounded at his brother's words.
"Forget what he said, you need to get ready for bed," his mother said to him ushering him towards the stairs.
"Ok," Takeshi slowly said as he went upstairs.

~ A week later ~

Takeshi carefully walked to the living room holding a glass of milk when the front door slowly opened to reveal Taisuke.
"Taisuke!" Takeshi said in excitement, dropping the glass of milk he had, as he hugged his brother.
"Hey there," Taisuke said wincing a little, "where is mom?"
"I'm right here, and welcome back," She called from the kitchen.
"Thanks. Is it ok if I take Takeshi down to the forest for a bit?" he asked.
"Yea sure, just clean up the spilled milk before you go," she replied tossing a cloth.
"Oops," Takeshi said, covering his mouth trying to hold in a slight laugh. After the two finished, they were out the door and heading towards the woods. When they got there they were greeted by Azure.
"Hey boy," Taisuke said as the bird landed on a nearby stump.
"Taisuke" where exactly did you go?" Takeshi slowly asked his brother.
"Mom doesn't want you to know, but you can keep a secret, right?" Taisuke said with a smirk on his face.
  "Yea, of course I can,"
"Well? I had to go to this ninja school to improve my skills" Taisuke said as he sat down on the ground.
"You're a ninja!! That's so cool, can I be one to?" Takeshi said in excitement.
"It's to risky for you," Taisuke snapped back.
"It's not like I'm going to die,"
"Don't say such thing, this is how dad died," Taisuke said looking down at the ground in sadness.
"...He didn't die from a car accident?" Takeshi said.
"No... not quite, you would have liked him if you ever meet him*," Taisuke said, looking up at the sky instead of at the ground.
"How heartbreaking," a strange voice said from the depths of the forest. Taisuke quickly got up from the ground and ran in front of Takeshi to protect him.
"Who's there? Show yourself," Taisuke commanded, suddenly the wind began to pick up around them, and then a man dressed in a black trench coat appeared from the shadows.
"Just surrender your element, before things have to get messy," the man said.
"Brother... I'm scared..." Takeshi said trembling in fear.
"Don't worry, I won't let this creep hurt us," Taisuke said.
"I guess you want to die then, I'll take the little one out first," the man said redirecting the wind towards Takeshi.
"Takeshi!" Taisuke yelled, as he wrapped his arms around him and jumped out of the way.
"Taisuke you're leg..." Takeshi said, looking at his brother's bloody leg.
"Don't worry about me... I need to give you something..." Taisuke said, pulling out a small dagger from his back pocket.   Taisuke then ripped off his right sleeve revealing the kanji for ice on his trisept. He quickly jabbed the dagger into the tattoo, wincing from the pain, but continued to outline the tattoo, "This is going to hurt, but stay strong," he said as he grabbed Takeshi's right arm and stabbed him with the dagger.
"Taisuke... why did you do that, what is this?" Takeshi asked as tears rolled down him cheeks, Taisuke slowly brought his arm up and whipped away his tears.
"I want you to become a ninja, even though I told you not to... I have given you the gift of ice, it's hard to master, but don't worry, and don't tell mom. Now hide Takeshi!"   Taisuke commanded, pushing his arm that was dripping in blood. Takeshi took his brothers commands, and ran and hid in a nearby bush.
"Who exactly are you?" Taisuke asked, slowly getting up from the ground.
"I will tell you my name... since it will be the last one you hear," The man said an evil grin spreading on his face, "Kazuma," he said as he formed a wire of wind, and thrusting it toward Taisuke, piercing it into his heart.
Takeshi sat there paralyzed with fear, not believing what his eyes had just seen, Takeshi opened his mouth in attempt to scream 'How come I can't speak,' Takeshi thought.   Kazuma walked towards Taisuke's to retrieve what he had come for. He pulled out a dagger and stabbed it into Taisuke?s arm, where the tattoo was. After some time, with no prevail; Kazuma removed the blade, throwing it down, hitting Taisuke in the shoulder blade. "What is going on here?" Kazuma asked himself as he looked over to see Takeshi near the bush. Takeshi, realizing he had been seen quickly turned and ran in the direction to his house. "The little brat... I'll let him go for now... I'll get what I came for when he's more experienced... It'll be funner that way." Kazuma said as he took off in the air. Takeshi quickly made it home and ran inside.
"Mom... Mom come quick,,, I... I... please help Taisuke," he yelled, choking on every word that came out in.
"What happened?" she asked in shock at the sudden outburst.
"Taisuke was.. he was..." Takeshi said, not being able to say what had happened.
"I'll call the ambulance, tell me where he is..."
"He's... in the forest," Takeshi said, finally finding the right words.
"Go upstairs, and clean up... you've had enough for today," she said as she picked up her cell phone and ran outside. Takeshi listened to his mother and slowly walked up the stairs, the memory of what happened freshly ran through his mind, as he walked into his room and lay on his bed, crying himself to sleep.   The next day Takeshi woke to the sound of a slamming door. 'Taisuke,' he thought as he got up quickly and ran downstairs.   As he got to the bottom the only one he saw was his mother who slowly sat herself down on the couch.
"Mom? where is Taisuke?" Takeshi asked as he walked over to her.
"Oh Takeshi..." she said, holding him closely as she began to cry, "he's gone..." she finally said letting go of Takeshi.
"He can't be... he just can't... your lying!" he shouted in disbelief.
"I wish I was," she said shaking her head at her own disbelief.

~A year later~

"A year today... it's been a year without Taisuke..." Takeshi thought, slowly going through a picture album. "I can't take this loneliness..." he said as he pulled out a neat by drawer and picked up a dagger. "This will do it," he said holding the dagger to his neck. As he was about to puncture the skin, Azure swiftly came through the window and grabbed his left arm, tearing the skin of his arm. "Azure you stupid bird, why did you stop me, this is what I want!" he yelled clutching his bleeding arm in pain. He quickly moved his arm knocking over the picture album, making a picture of his mother fall out,
'Mom... after losing dad, and Taisuke you can still hold a smile... if I left to... you would be lonelier than I am.' He thought looking at the picture. "Thanks Azure... now I know why you stopped me... besides you would be lonely without me too" he said to the bird, as he pet him under the beak. 'I think I'll stay here... the only thing what will allow me to get rid of this loneliness is to get revenge for my brothers death...' he thought as he tossed the dagger in the garbage next to him.

Note by K.O (who also wrote Takeshi's past): Ok this is the end of Takeshi?s past, and surprisingly I am proud of the ending, I was actually going to make it an event in the present day what caused Takeshi to remember this, but I forgot until now. The name of the peregrine falcon, Azure, came from the light blue color azure, and also the reason why Taisuke said "you would have liked him if you meet him?"to Takeshi, was because Takeshi's father was killed before he was born. Well hopefully this is up to your expectation and you had enjoyed it.
The Star Ocean Till The End Of Time Picture is put on for K.O to congratulate her for beating the game on 03/27/05!!!!!!!!!!!!!
